Is it True that Cats have 9 Lives??

If cats do in fact have 9 lives....

then our little "Mickey" is about half way through her life already!

She's been choked, squashed, crushed, pinched, stepped on, you name it, it's happened!!

Poor
Poor
Poor
Little Mickey!!

But at the same time there is....
So MuCh LoVe!

Nobody could LoVe her more than what Little Laners does!

After the kitty escaped from being stuck underneath the garage door last evening, she hid under a bush, and was breathing rather heavily!
Luckily she was ok!
Lane was so concerned about her, and he talked so sweet to her!
In his '2 year old' voice he said, as if he were talking to a 'baby'

"Kitty, you ok? Aw, kitty - come here kitty! Kitty, you ok?"
(Over & Over Again!!!)

Amazingly she was ok!
On to her next LiFe!

Because Remember....
Cats have 9+ Lives!

Everyday we go through the same scenario, and it goes like this:
Lane says,

"Her such a nice boy"

"Aw Kitty, what you doin' Kitty?"

And Then.....
The Kitty AttAcKs!!

Mickey, the Kitty, grabs hold of Lane's leg and clings to it as though she is going to climb him like a tree!
He yells at her LOUDLY, as he's kicking and panicking,

"Git Kitty, Git!!!"

"Her such a Bad Boy Kitty"

But then they 'make up'....until the next time, that is!

Potty Training! - What an experience!!!

I have quickly learned that it takes....
WoRk
PaTiEnCe
CoNsiStEnCy
DiLiGeNcE
TiMe
& LoTs oF UnDerWeAr!!!
As a "First Time Potty Trainer" I really wasn't sure how to go about this whole process....
I did NO research,
read NO books,
and honestly, had NO plan!!

I did, however take notes in my head of 'other people's tactics'

-Let them Run Naked

-Stay Outside 24/7

-Throw a Potty Party

-Reward with Candy/Presents

-Make a Chart with Stickers

I have heard positive results from all - so I just kind of 'went with it' and on a whim started this past Monday - out of the blue, basically in the middle of the day, got a wild hair, and decided to begin this adventure!
And YeS, it has been an AdVeNtUrE!
I won't bore you with a descriptive 'play by play' of my past couple days.
But I will share a summary of a few 'funny happenings' that only take place when a 2 year old is involved:

While I was changing Lane out of his WET underwear on the first day - he decided to throw a fit, like only a 2 year old can do....I was unable to get complete control so I plopped him in his timeout "Pac-n-play." After he had calmed down, I bent down to talk to him, and all of the sudden I feel warmth on my stomach through my shirt!!
Lane says with a smirk - "I'm going, Mom. I peed on you. Sunny?" Is that sunny, Mom?"
(Sunny-translated to Funny)
Mommy - "Absolutely Not!! That is not funny!!!!!"
(It was funny, actually it was hilarious!....but he'll never know!)

We were outside working this morning, and all of the sudden Lane was just beside himself, he was so distraught! As my attention went to him, my eyes automatically went down to his shorts - Yup, you guessed it!
Lane - "Mommy, I peed!!"
So I stripped him down and let him continue to go in the grass - like boys like to do!
(young and old, that is!)
I was determined to get caught up on the weeds before we went inside, so I figured I'll do the "naked tactic" So Lane is running around with a shirt, socks and shoes! Very cute, and this photo will most likely surface when he's a Senior!
Well before I knew it, I seen that Lane was "squatted down"
UH-OH....I knew what that meant!!
Instantly, I hear....
"I went stinky"
Oh No!! Right out in front of our house!
So what in the world do I do with this poop?
Dispose of it?
How do I pick it up?
Leave it there, and pretend a dog did it?
Leave it there for Josh, so that he can take care of it when he gets home? :)

So on with my next story....

BTW - I don't mind that you're skim reading! I'm recording these stories for my own sake, so that I can remember how much fun it was to potty train! :) I have yet to understand how there is so much 'fluid' in my little 2 year old's body! Right before lunch, he peed a LoNg StReAm into the toilet, and then 5 minutes later he peed a SMaLL LaKe in his highchair. I am constantly saying to him,

"Lane, you have to try and hold it"

Well, Lane understood that to mean 'hold his bottom' so after our 'LaKe in the highchair" episode he tells me,

"Mah-ahm, I'm holding it"

With his hand down there 'holding his bottom' And then 5 minutes later he says,

"Mah-ahm I'm NOT holding it"

With both hands now on top of his highchair tray!

LOL!!! I LoVe the....
INNoCeNcE
cLueLeSSnEss
& Spontaneity
of my sweet 2 year old, Lane!

Birthday On The Farm!! - My Baby Turns 2!!

The Cake
The Candles
The singing
(which is Lane's favorite part)
The Presents
The Excitement
The Joy
The Surprise
Oh How We LoVe Birthdays!!!!
Especially when they're shared with a Child!
But then there's part of me that's sad....My Baby Boy, is no longer a Baby!
He's 2 Years Old!!!
But I'm so very Thankful that the Lord has entrusted us to raise Lane for His good!
Our Prayer for Lane, is that he will learn to know the Lord at a young age, and he will serve Him with his life - in all he does and all he is!
Thank you, Lord for blessing us with the Gift of Lane....he has brought so much
JoY, LoVe and LaUgHtEr to our home!

Sneaking a bit more CaKe while everyone is in the other room. Mom won't mind because....

It's My BiRtHdAy!!!

My BiRtHdAy CeLeBrAtiOn at Hershberger Farm!! My buddies came, and we fed the animals, then they sang HaPPy BiRtHdAy to Me, and then we got to eat BiRtHdAy CuPcAkEs!!!

And to top My BiRtHdAy off....My Grandma & Grandpa Yoder came to see me all the way from Florida!! And they brought me a NeW TrAcToR & 2 TrAiLeRs - just like Daddy's equipment at the Farm!
BiRtHdAyS ArE sO MuCh FuN!!!!

jorjia

This little chickaroo makes me laugh!
She is such a cutie with a personality!!
I love her 2 year old attitude (which all 2 year olds have),
her zest for life,
and her ability to keep up with her "just as cute" sister, Jewel!
I have taken her photos several times since she has been born, and it's truly been a joy to see her grow up and change in the last 2 years!
You're a sweetie pie, Jorjia!

Loving Hands

I am Blessed to know these hands!
I love the contrast....
One is learning to Live....while the other has Lived!
One will experience so much in life....while the other has basically experienced it all!
Both are Full of Life!

I have had the pleasure of being Loved by both hands....One of them being my sweet 2 year old son, and the other my precious
92 year old Grandma!
My Grandma is Beautiful, Spunky, Humorous, Determined, Caring, Loving, Precious, and she has a heart of Gold!
I spent many Days/Evenings at her home throughout my childhood, and on up to my adulthood!
I love the way she always had time for me, and she was forever patient with me!
I love the way that she would tease me, and I of course would react, but I always knew that she loved me! She just wanted to be funny!
I love the way she would rub my back "Paddle-Whack" me at night when I would spend the night at her house!
I love the way she would take me to the "Five and Dime" store and we would sit at the counter for breakfast/lunch.
I love the way she taught me this song,
"I Love you a Bushel and a Peck,
a Bushel and a Peck,
and a Hug around the neck!"
And even with me singing it over and over again, I always got the reaction that I was longing for....a tight squeeze from my Grandma, and a great big loving smile to go along with it!
I love the way we would go shopping at Southgate, and we would just laugh-laugh-laugh while we were in the dressing room!
I love the way her and my Step-Grandpa would always "smooch" right before they would go to sleep, just to get a reaction out of me!
I love the way she was at the hospital with me (alot) when I was 4 and had mono.
I love the way she massaged my feet with lotion when they were all "itchy" with hives.
I love the way she made my favorite meal at her home....Tomato Gravy!
I love all her "Grandma" ways, and I hope someday that I can be as good of a Grandma as she has been to me!
I miss her very much, as I now live in Ohio, but I treasure my time with her when I visit Florida.
I love seeing my son, Lane love her just as I do!
I love you, Grandma!!

True Ties Are Never Broken!!

I love a cHiLd'S iMaGiNaTiOn.....
'Horse & Buggy'
Addison and Ryland are the "horses" and Lane is the "Amish Guy?"
It was SO GrEaT having Heidi and her 2 BeAuTiFuL children here with us overnite.....the only bad thing was.....
IT WAS WAY TOO SHORT!
We made the most of our time together by watching the kids play(lots of laughs), and then catching up with eachother once we stuck them to bed!!
It's amazing how the distance never breaks a TrUe fRiEnDsHiP.....
During our childhood we were apart for 6 years, no contact, and then Heidi moved back to Florida our 8th grade year!!!
The Best Thing you ever did, Heidi!!!
And now since High School we've been apart again, with occasional visits!
I miss you, Heidi and I truly enjoyed the time spent with you and your kids.....come back soon!

Just As Pretty As Can Be!!!

Love Her!!!
What a BeAuTiFuL little girl, with a such a SwEEt, ViBrAnT personality....6 going on 16!!!
My Camera loved her too, she made my job so easy! She would literally just smile at the camera whenever she seen it pointing in her direction! So cute! In fact, her brother was the same way, these kids were unbelievable!

Look Out Little Ladies.....He's a Heartbreaker!!!

When I say 'Handsome' that is an understatement for this little guy!
Simply Adorable in his 'Easter Get-Up' definitely Model Material!
He was so sweet & patient with me, and my endless shots
....never once threw a fit!
He asked a couple times in his innocent voice,
"Am I done yet?"
Of course, my answer was,
"Just a few more! Almost done!"
I had such a fun afternoon with Joey, and his sister, Jordan....2 of the most cooperative kids ever!! Good Job, Mom & Dad! I'm looking forward to spending some time at the BeAcH with them this summer....can't wait to add more of their beautiful photos to my collection!

SpRiNg FeVeR!!!

Although there are snow flurries flyin' everywhere outside, and there's a ton of snow on the ground.....At The Crilow House we're thinking SuNsHiNe - BiRdS SiNginG - FloWeRS BlOOmInG - & most of all WaRmEr WeAtHeR! In my head, I'm continually saying to myself, 'This Too, Shall Pass' (My favorite saying/quote, btw) I don't know about you all, but I know that I have had enough WiNtEr, SnOw, IcE....and everything else that goes along with this time of year! I glanced back to my calendar from 2009, and I was pleasantly surprised when I learned that we were outside enjoying the Sunshine and NOT the Snow in March....it was the latter part of March, but it was still March!!! And might I remind you.....Monday is the first day of March!!! I couldn't help but imagine it was warm outside when I was browsing through these photos from the last couple years!
